Ronda… you got me today.

I first planned to visit Ronda back in 2013 during a solo trip through Spain, but because of its location, it never quite fit into my itinerary. So yesterday, in 2025, after spending part of the day taking care of necessary residency paperwork, we made a short stop in Ronda's historic downtown. And somehow, even in limited time, it completely captured me.
The moment I saw Puente Nuevo, I had a true wow moment. It’s massive, powerful, and impossible to ignore. Standing there, I kept thinking about the people who spent more than 40 years building it, from 1751 to 1793. Did they ever imagine that centuries later people would still be standing there, completely amazed? Probably not. And yet, they created something so strong and magnificent that its presence still feels alive today.

Even during a quick walk through the city, Ronda revealed so much: narrow streets, old wooden doors, layers of history, artistic details everywhere you look. It feels like a place that holds centuries of stories, even when you only have a moment to listen. And of course, the smell of incredible Spanish food follows you around, tempting you at every corner. #spain #movetospain #rondaspain #andalucia #travelspain #travel #travelblogger

I think when you move to Spain, it’s almost a basic instinct to fall straight into Eat, Pray, Love mode — specifically the “Eat” part. The food is just too good to resist, even when you’re already full. And while we’re definitely not here as tourists (there’s a long to-do list that comes with establishing residency), we’ve still found time to go out, linger over meals, and wander through markets filled with the freshest produce and seafood. The variety alone is almost overwhelming, in the best way. I keep standing there thinking… where do I even start? Which fish do you buy first? #movetospain #spain #malagaspain

New post is all about apartment hunting in the Costa del Sol (Málaga area). Since we’d been planning our move to Spain for a long time and doing tons of research we already knew that finding a long-term rental wouldn’t be easy. After months of searching on Idealista, we finally decided to work with a relocation agent. Sabine from Move to Málaga @movetomalaga was incredibly helpful. After several days of viewings, we finally secured our apartment. For anyone planning to move to Spain, remember: a long-term rental contract is essential for getting your empadronamiento and TIE card, both required for most visa holders. It’s a process, but with the right help, it’s doable. #movetospain #malaga #spain

While we’re getting settled and still searching for a long-term rental, our days look pretty simple. Lots of walking around, nothing too intense. And even in these slow first days, Spain makes it easy to feel inspired. The colors, the streets, the views… there’s visual inspiration everywhere. Rented a car in Spain for the first time, and it was a lot. New signs, new rules, roundabouts everywhere, and streets that felt way too narrow for my comfort level. The whole experience was a mix of excitement and stress. First-time driving in a new country is definitely an adventure but we did it. #spain #movetospain #malaga
