Wedding at Omni Resort Puerto Aventuras, Mexico.
It is a well known fact that Mexican resorts are popular all around the world partly due to its white sand beaches, turquoise sea and wonderful warm weather, average temp is in the middle 80s all year round. Precisely this fantastic climate made Mexico also a famous wedding destination resort. Every year many happy couples say their wedding vows on the Caribbean seashore in the Riviera Maya and Cancun. This last August I was a wedding photographer for one of those wonderful couples, Nancy and Jorge.
The day of their wedding started with a beautiful sunrise that illuminated the blue sky with a bright unique light. The sunny weather was making everyone even happier, after 2 p.m. a suspicious group of grey clouds started appearing in the sky.
The wedding ceremony at Omni Resort Puerto Aventuras was supposed to start at 5.30 p.m. that is a very good time for the ceremony during the hot summer months, by the time Nancy came to the beach and started walking towards the wedding gazebo the sky was already fully covered with grey clouds. Everyone was feeling happy and optimistic and no one could have imagined that this could have happened but it did. A heavy rain started five minutes after the beginning of the ceremony. Totally unexpected, what a nightmare! That was a real surprise! For a moment we thought that all the previous planning and endless efforts were in vain…
Despite such a bad weather Nancy and Jorge stayed optimistic and were feeling calm, at the end they repeat to each other the most important two words, “I do”.
The rain lasted for about thirty minutes. I was able to make many beautiful pictures in front of the sea and near the pool. The real feelings of love and a great wish to be together are not afraid of the grey skies or the heavy rain.
Once again, I wish that Nancy and Jorge always stay as optimistic, joyful and positive as I remembered them on their wedding day…
